This study is aiming to understand more about how neurodisability services meet the psychological support needs of children/young people with feeding disabilities and their families.
Who can be involved?
- Experienced health or social care professionals who works with children who have complex feeding, eating and drinking needs and their families
- A clinical manager interested in quality improvement
- Parents of a child with neurodisability who is receiving care, or has received care, in the last 12 months from health care professionals because of issues about feeding
What happens to people taking part in this research?
If you are a clincial member of staff, taking part in this study involves offering views on decision making processes when recommending a gastrostomy feeding tube, your views on how you support the family and if you think there is any gaps in the care pathway for families.
If you are a parent, we want you to tell us how involved you and your child were in the decision making proces about feeding, your need for support and what you valued about the care you have received including any changes that you would like to see in the way services meet the support needs of families.
