This study is testing whether text messages providing information and tips to increase safer sex helps young people adopt safer sex behaviours.
Who can be involved?
- A person aged between 16-24
- With a recent positive test result for Chlamydia, gonorrhoea or a non specific urethritis diagnosis
What happens to people taking part in this research?
Participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. Once completed, an automated computer system will randomly put the participant in to one of 2 groups. One group will recieve safer sex text messages for 1-2 weeks then about 5 messages a month for 11 months. The other group will receive one message a month for 12 months.
