The South Hampshire Register (SHARe) investigates the problems experienced by young people with ADHD, conduct disorder or mood disorders (anxiety/depression). The register has been active since 2010 and collects information which can be used to find out more about these disorders.
Who can be involved?
- Any child between the age of 8 and 12 that has a diagnosis of ADHD, Mood Disorder or Conduct Disorder
What happens to people taking part in this research?
If you decide you would like to be included on the SHARe register, a researcher will ask you to participate on 3 levels. Level 1 is having your child's name put onto the clinical register. At Level 2, your child with be given additional detailed clinical assessments, including a cognitive assessment. Finally, at level 3 you and your child can give a saliva sample which will be used to extract genetic material.
