Academy Conference 2022 FAQs
Your questions answered...
Parking is available and is free of charge for our conference guests. Once you arrive at the venue, you will be directed to the car park behind the hotel. Disabled access parking is available and can be found directly in front of the hotel.
There are a number of options if you are using public transport:
- Train - the closest train station is Hedge End which is on South Western Railway's, Portsmouth Solent Line. The station is two miles from the conference venue (approximately 35 minute walk). The First Bus Number 8 also runs from the station to the venue.
- Bus - First Bus Number 8 and Xelabus X4 bus stop on Botley Road, at the entrance of the Ageas Bowl.
Obviously this will vary depending on the mode and distance you are travelling but tor patients and public who wish to come to the event, we can reimburse your travel costs. To do this, you will need to fill out a form on the day. If you'd like to know more information about this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 0300 123 3994.
You may want to bring a couple of pens and a notepad to take notes but this is entirely optional! The event has interactive elements, for which a mobile phone is handy. We also encourage photos and posting on social media.
We'll provide refreshments throughout the day, plus a lunch. Please note that we trying to be as 'green' as possible, so there will not be any disposable cups or plates. Water bottles and glasses will be available on each of the tables, and around the venue, but we encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle with you for your own convenience.
That's fine - when you register via Eventbrite you'll see an opt-out section that you can select if you do not wish to have your photo taken throughout the day. We will place a small sticker on your name badge to indicate to our photographer that you have opted out.
Yes! We endeavour to make all presentations 'jargon free' and accessible to everyone who attends.
Absolutely. If you are coming on your own and would like some extra support we have a buddy system in place, which means that one of our team members will be available to show you around on the day and help you with any questions you may have.

Yes - after you've attended our conference, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request your certificate. We can cross match with our records that you attended on the day, and send you a certificate.
Your email address may be shared with other delegates on the day if relevant.
