At the end of 2022, we held our fourth round of Learning from Excellence Awards. The awards are a chance to celebrate and say thanks to staff, patients, people, and communities who have delivered excellent healthcare that has helped us to learn and improve.
Learning from Excellence is a national call to learn and build on what goes well in organisations and to provide positive feedback to staff, through peers reporting excellence in healthcare.
This year we had 36 nominated winners from across Solent, 10 of these were patients and community partners who have worked with the Trust. The reasons for nominations were varied and inspiring, here are just a few of the nominations received:
"He is hard working, friendly and has good knowledge, he goes above and beyond when it comes to patient care."
"Mary has been supporting the Happier Working Lives Programme, where she has supported the teams and given her perspectives on how our teams can create happier, healthier environments making a real difference to our staff."
"She is selfless, hardworking, supportive and encourages newbies in the office. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is okay with everyone. She is excellent!"
"Jackie has been really helpful in supporting the national 'Positive Voices Survey 2022', making sure our research questionnaires get out to HIV patients in Portsmouth. Without her help, we would have had a really hard time recruiting to this study - thank you Jackie."
"Brooke has supported the quality and transformation work at Solent and has been consistently and reliably supportive for the development of our projects. She has a 'can do' attitude and goes out of her way to support projects. She is a real asset to our team!"
The award winners were humbled and proud to receive their awards. Winning came as a surprise to most nominees and many of them remarked that they were simply doing their job. Here are a few comments from them:
