Anna Badley
Strategic Lead for Research and Evaluation
My role
I am the Strategic Lead for Research and Evaluation and I lead Co-Lab, the Academy’s centre for evaluations, training and research methods for community-based research and improvement. I am also a NIHR Senior Research Leader, working at a regional and national level to build research capacity in community nursing research.
My responsibilities
I am responsible for setting the strategic direction and focus for the Academy. This often involves building relationships with external partners, developing opportunities, and growing the Academy brand, reputation, and impact. I am also responsible for the operational delivery of Co-Lab, working with external clients to design and deliver evaluations, research, and training.
My background
I am a registered nurse and Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing and worked clinically in community nursing for many years. I completed my MSc in researching the autonomous role of community nurses which led onto my PhD work exploring work pressures in community nursing. I have also led on several research grants, including leading as Chief Investigator for Pneumo 65, a multi-sited research study exploring nurse decision-making in the diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia in care homes.
Why I love my job
I work with the best team in the world! Every day they really inspire me to drive forward to achieve and meet our goals and ambitions to lead the way in community-based research and improvement. I am so passionate about the work we do and very proud to work for such a forward-thinking team where we can be trailblazers in what we do.
